Today, when you go to your doctor and get referred to a specialist, your doctor sends out a referral and tells you, “They’ll be in touch soon.” So you wait. And wait. Sometimes days, weeks, or even months. Why? Because too often providers are overwhelmed with the painstakingly tedious work required to get paid by insurance companies. Powered by proprietary models, Tennr handles the complex paperwork that gets patients through the door and providers paid, helping operators get patients the right care, at the right time, in the right setting.
Role DescriptionTennr is looking for a Product Operations Associate to own the day-to-day operations of one of Tennr's products, working closely with Product, Product Operations, and Engineering. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role on a fast-moving team. You will help shape how the product evolves within the broader Tennr platform amongst a diverse and rapidly scaling customer base. We are looking for someone to pick up Tennr’s platform and tooling on day one and help scale a product support team. You will also build and iterate on product enablement materials, collaborating closely with Sales, Business Operations, and Customer Experience teams. Over time, you will interface with customers and be a key part of gathering and implementing customer feedback.
ResponsibilitiesPrioritize and assign work and close out each day with a clear status on what's outstanding, so nothing falls through the cracks.
Train and support a growing team, answer first-pass questions, and coach on quality and turnaround as product volume grows.
Help customers scale with the product. Dig into codes, payers, and customer data across dashboards and spreadsheets to find gaps Tennr isn't capturing yet and make the case for going after them.
Transform customer insights and data into functionality on the product roadmap, file tickets so that engineering can act fast, and flag priorities so the right things ship first.
Get hands-on by doing the detailed operational work yourself when it's needed. No task is beneath the role.
Build the playbook. Document how the process actually works so it scales past any one person, including yourself.
1–2 years of experience in management consulting, high-growth startups, healthcare operations, or finance.
Relentlessly detail-oriented. You catch small issues before they become real problems.
Comfortable in dashboards, spreadsheets, and messy data.
A self-starter who reasons from first principles when you hit something unfamiliar, you work it out rather than waiting to be told.
Calm and resourceful when the day gets chaotic. You keep things moving without being asked.
Operate with discretion and judgment, comfortable navigating payer portals and other systems.
Bonus: background in healthcare, medicine, or public health; prior authorization or payer-side operations experience; familiarity with medical billing (HCPCS/J-codes, ICD-10); exposure to structured data (JSON/FHIR) or tools like Linear.
Drive impact: one of our company values is Cowboy, meaning you set the pace. You won't just talk about things, you'll get them done, and feel the impact.
Develop operational expertise: learn how payer operations and a scaling product actually work from the inside.
Innovate with purpose: join a high-caliber team maniacally focused on reducing patient delays across the U.S. healthcare system.
Build relationships: collaborate and connect with driven people in our Hudson Square office, 4 days/week.
Free lunch! Plus a pantry full of snacks.
