About Sarvam

Sarvam is building the bedrock of Sovereign AI for India. The company is developing India’s full-stack sovereign AI platform, building across research, models, infrastructure and applications with a singular focus on making AI genuinely work for India. Sarvam works with leading enterprises and public institutions and is backed by Lightspeed, Peak XV, and Khosla Ventures. Sarvam partners with India’s leading brands, including Tata Capital, SBI Life, CRED, IDFC, and LIC.

About the Role

DevRel at Sarvam is part engineering, part content, part community — and this role manages the code and content pillars.

As a Developer Advocate, you are a developer first. You build the demos, cookbooks, integrations, and technical content that show developers what's possible with Sarvam's models — and make it easy for them to ship. Your code and your writing are often the first experience a developer has with Sarvam, and you hold both to a high bar.

At the core of this role is empathy. A great Developer Advocate has felt the frustration of a confusing API, a missing code example, or an unanswered support thread. You notice where developers get stuck, and you don't just fix the symptom — you take the insight back to the engineering team and help close the loop. Feedback is not a side effect of this role. It's one of its most important outputs.

What You’ll Do

  • Build cookbook recipes and demos — write end-to-end code examples covering voice agents, multilingual RAG, document AI, and Indic-language applications using Sarvam APIs. Every recipe ships with a working "Open in Colab" notebook.

  • Create technical content — write blog posts, tutorials, quickstarts, and how-to guides that help developers build real things — and present the best of them as talks, livestreams, and videos.

  • Ship integrations — build and document integrations with platforms like LiveKit, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Vercel AI SDK, and Pipecat so Sarvam APIs feel native in the tools developers already use.

  • Improve SDK and docs DX — identify friction in the developer journey, write fixes, and ship improvements to our Python SDK, TypeScript adapter, and docs site.

  • Track what matters — monitor SDK installs, cookbook usage, error rates, and integration adoption; surface insights that help the team prioritise what to build and write next.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–3 years of experience as a software engineer, developer advocate, or in a technical content role — with real code shipped to real users.

  • You can write code and prose equally well. You're strong in Python (and ideally TypeScript), and you can explain what the code does to a developer who's seeing Sarvam for the first time.

  • You've shipped something public. A project, a repo, a blog, a talk, a demo — a body of work that reflects how you think and build. We care about this more than credentials.

  • You're curious about language and AI. You don't need to be an ML researcher, but you should have a genuine interest in how speech, translation, and large language models work — especially in the context of Indian languages.

  • You write clearly. DevRel is a writing-heavy role. Docs, tutorials, Discord replies, commit messages — clarity of thought shows up in all of them.

  • You're passionate about teaching and great at delivering technical content. Talks, workshops, livestreams, tutorials — you love breaking down hard technical ideas and you're effective at getting them across to a room or an audience online.

  • You move fast and follow through. You can take a loosely defined brief and ship something polished without being hand-held.

  • Bonus: You've built with LLM/voice/speech APIs, contributed to open source, spoken at meetups or conferences, or created developer-facing content with an audience.
