PR Specialist (Especialista de Relaciones Públicas) - Mexico City, Mexico (Hybrid)

What you'll do

• Job Description:

  We are looking for a highly skilled, dynamic, and hands-on PR Specialist to strengthen Clara’s reputation and drive meaningful media coverage across Mexico and Colombia. You will own the planning and execution of local PR strategies, build trusted relationships with journalists and media outlets, and translate Clara’s products, partnerships, and C-level perspectives into clear, relevant stories.

  This role combines strong external communications expertise with excellent stakeholder management. You will work closely with C-level executives in their day-to-day communications, prepare and accompany them at events and media engagements, and partner across Content, Events, Product, Product Marketing, and other teams. We are looking for someone who embodies Clara’s culture of simplicity, ownership, continuous reinvention, inclusion, and clarity—and who brings a builder mindset, using AI and experimentation to simplify workflows and increase impact.

  Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local journalists and media outlets.
  • Own communications for product launches, partnerships, and C-level announcements, translating complex information into simple and compelling narratives.
  • Create engaging and informative editorial content, including press releases, media alerts, and other PR materials.
  • Build strong working relationships across Content, Events, Product, Product Marketing, and other teams to align priorities, gather insights, and deliver integrated communications initiatives.
  • Handle day-to-day media relations, including responding to media inquiries and organizing interviews.
  • Identify and secure opportunities for thought leadership initiatives, including speaking engagements and bylined articles.
  • Coordinate press conferences, media briefings, and industry events; prepare, brief, and accompany C-level executives and spokespeople, ensuring a high-quality experience before, during, and after each engagement.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage to assess the effectiveness of PR strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and media landscape changes, turning insights into timely recommendations and new communication opportunities.
  • Develop and implement crisis communications plans when needed, coordinating stakeholders and acting with clarity and urgency.
  • Serve as a trusted day-to-day communications partner to Clara’s C-level executives and spokespeople, providing media training, message development, briefing materials, and hands-on support for interviews and public appearances.

   

  Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in planning and executing successful PR strategies.
  • Strong local knowledge of the media landscape and established relationships with journalists.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the judgment and storytelling ability to create clear, compelling content for different audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience advising and working directly with C-level stakeholders, including executive communications, event support, media preparation, and day-to-day stakeholder management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Experience in thought leadership initiatives, such as securing speaking engagements and writing bylined articles.
  • Builder mindset and hands-on ability to use AI, automation, and new tools to simplify recurring work, improve quality, and scale PR processes.
  • Exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills, with experience aligning diverse cross-functional partners, navigating different perspectives, and moving shared work forward with clarity and accountability.
  • Professional fluency in Spanish and English.

  Nice to have

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced startup or high-growth technology company is a plus.
  • Experience at a PR agency working with corporate, technology, or fintech accounts.

Clara’s Hybrid Policy

Claridians in a hybrid mode split their time between working from the office, talking to or visiting customers, or working from home. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for each individual and team.

We don't enforce a minimum number of days for most roles, but you're expected to spend time at the office organically, and be at the office most days during your ramp-up or when required by your leader.
